Athletic pubalgia or sports hernia is a painful soft tissue injury of the groin area which can become chronic and disabling if not treated. It most often occurs during sports that require sudden changes of direction or twisting movements. Groin pain might be the result of something as simple as a muscle strain or a much more serious injury.

Most of these conditions that often seem complicated and difficult are actually very easy to treat rapidly and effectively because the source of pain is much more easily resolved than normally believed using the correct techniques. In many cases they can be eliminated in one or two sessions or can be reduced with some simple self-care (see “self treatment” below).
